question regarding a grammar rule

Good day all,
i have one question regarding a SC question from gmat pills website.

Although just inside the orbit of Jupiter, amateur astronomers with good telescopes
should be able to see the comet within the next few weeks.
(A) Although just inside the orbit of
(B) Although it is just inside the orbit of
(C) Just inside the orbit of
(D) Orbiting just inside
(E) Having orbited just inside

the OA is B but what confuse me is the following:
it is a subject prounoun [/u]that refers to direct object (comet) in the second clause.

what added to my confusion is that i read somewhat that: "when a sentence begins with one clause, a pronouns in the following clause is presumed to refers to the subject or object of the first clause (depending on the prounoun). this is why i thought the inverse should also be true .

Any idea?
Many thanks in advance.

Ama

I would request you not to practice with unofficial problems. This may make you confused. I am also in confusion. I have not seen such structure in the official problems. We should stick to the official problems. Dig the official guides.
Thanks.

Hi Amaelle,

I agree with GMAT_Perfect. It's best to stick to the more reputable sites. Grockit, for example, mocks its questions entirely from official resources.

I have an issue with B on this one as well. Is it lacking "Jupiter" because "Although it is just inside the orbit of amateur astronomers..." does not make sense.

Additionally, with the placement, "it" seems to refer to "amateur astronomers" which is incorrect. I'm write this one off.
