Hi,there! I'm preparing for GMAT test. Can someone help me figure out what the difference between the following modifers?

correspondingly increased sales
corresponding increases in sales

These two phrases are from the following question in OG:

Rising inventories, when unaccompanied correspondingly by increases in sales, can lead to production cutbacks that would hamper economic growth.

(A) when unaccompanied correspondingly by increases in sales, can lead
(B) when not accompanied by corresponding increases in sales, possibly leads
(C) when they were unaccompanied by corresponding sales increases, can lead
(D) if not accompanied by correspondingly increased sales, possibly leads
(E) if not accompanied by corresponding increases in sales, can lead

the right answer is E, and I still wanna know whether "possibly" can replace "can" regardless the false of agreement in the answer choice？

I have got one answer, from Rich, that rising inventories is parallel to corresponding, so we can just eliminate A and D. But i m just curious about the meaning about the phrases above. Hope to get some answers. Thanks!
