I am applying to couple of MBA programs this year. However Iam confused whether I should mention one of my volunteer work in my application.During my A-levels, i volunteered to tutor Afghan Refugees for national board exams under the supervision of Aga Khan Focus and Humanitarian Department. Several of my friends are suggesting to delete that volunteer work from my application because anything related to Afghan refugees will raise red flags. Being aan applicant from Pakistan and mentioning about tutuoring Afghan Refugees will negatively impact my application. Any help will be highly appreciated.

Hi,
Aga Khan Foundation is a reputed organization. You should not be worried adding this to your application. All the best!

Agreed. Helping those in need cannot be held against you, and especially if it under an Aga Khan Foundation program. I wouldn't hesitate. I've also made mention of Aga Khan Foundation and other Ismaili community related work in my app essays. Good luck!!
