queries about MBA

by vineetkrishnan » Sun Apr 01, 2012 12:26 am
I want to do my MBA degree from a good university which has preferably placemment assistance. You can email me at [email protected]

For your information, i have completed my Masters in MIS from UK and have worked for 6-7 yrs in various capacities as Senior Business Analyst, Functional Consultant, Accounts Management etc.

I have been thinking about doing an MBA from a reputed university increase my designation grade and salary to but am confused how to go about it. Since i am fully employed, i am hesitant of leaving my job and doing it for reasons explained below.

My question is if i leave and pursue a full time 2 yr MBA, will i get a higher salary from what i have been getting now commnsurate with my yrs of experience and this MBA qualification. Or will i be considered as a Fresher MBA like a new MBA graduate person, and would be picked up with the same salary applicable when a person graduates out of a University. I need your help in providing me this information in detail and also highlight some good universities with good placement track record and good salaries.

Your information could include not only Full Time but also (Partime and Distance MBA). I hope you can help me get a clear idea to go ahead pursue my goal.

What you are asking is regarding your Salary / Bonus / Compensation. In my opinion, this kind of discussion requires a one-on-one conversation. Let me know if you would like to talk about this and I'll be happy to set up a time and provide you with further information.

It's a complicated question which requires a lot of specifics, like how much you make now, what your goals are, what schools you are talking about etc. etc. etc. And like Sophia wrote a bit hard to deal with on the forum (unless you want to let everyone know how much you make :) )

But let's suffice it to say: If you get into a top 10 or even Top 20 program it's certainly worth it. If not, then it needs to be discussed.
