Hi Ms. Blackman,
I've applied to both Queens and Ivey in Ontario, Canada.
I've decided both schools to be excellent schools but I would be slightly happier at Ivey because the case-based method of learning seems to be more engaging.
This is the situation:
Queens: starts in May 2009, admitted (I probably have a week or less to decide, receiving letter sometime tomorrow)
Ivey: starts in September 2009, waiting for 1 more reference letter (from a very busy person) to come in; after which there is at least 2 interviews sometimes spread apart by a few days.
***bottom line...i either have to accept Queens or risk it all by waiting for my app to be processed at Ivey.
***why I'm not confident about my app at Ivey: they seem to emphasize full-time work experience, while I've only worked part-time (albeit quality work for over 6 years, while dealing with family issues on the side).
The rest of my app is strong: 3.3 GPA last 2 years (the years they focus on), 680 GMAT (6.0 AWA) taken once, strong/unique extracurrics, and I'm guessing good references based on my admit to Queens.
Ivey class profile averages: 4.6 years work experience, 650 GMAT (middle 80%; 590 to 720), 3.0 GPA
***Comments on my situation please.
Thank you!
