How many questions one has to answer correctly to increase the Quant score from 46 to 50 or 51...??

51 on Quant is usually at most 3-4 wrong, and not consecutive.

I remember I had Q49 with 13 incorrect answers in my first GMATPrep test

Hi,

I had got a 51 in quants with 10 incorrect answers, but not a single 600-700 question was incorrect.

I think the key is maintaining the timing as well as making sure you don't get more than two incorrects in a row.

vivekjaiswal- that is an interesting way to attack... if I guess on a problem, and am not sure whether I got it right or wrong, i should commit some extra time to the next problem.

is it true that consecutive wrong answers hurt more than spread apart ones?

yes that does help a lot to save time for questions you could solve and be 100% confident about.
I am no expert in this matter, but as far as I have experienced from the MGMAT tests and other practice tests, I noticed that getting too many questions incorrect in a row does cost a bit too much than mistakes that are sprinkled here and there.
