I am a little concerned about pacing on the Quant Section of the GMAT. My timing in Verbal is great and I am not too worried. What gets my timing screwed up are the medium hard to hard questions that pop up in the Quant section. What do you think is the best way to deal with this? How should I practice Quant in the next two weeks prior to the exam?
Practice quant under timed conditions for the next two weeks... see if you get fatigued by the 30th question, then try practicing for sitting for 2 hours or more doing just quant, or 50-60 odd questions... Its like a weight training exercise... When the weights will be removed..you will feel lighter and more comfortable than now... All look at solutions and see if somebody used any shortcuts..
It would be good to avoid solving lengthy PS questions. Try figure out a formula, then fit in the 5 choices given to you.
Note that the answer choices would be in Ascending or descending order, so it would be a good idea to start say plugging in from choice C.
Make sure you are not solving DS questions, u just need a yes or no for the two cases given to you.
Plugging in numbers in DS at times kills a lot of time...Best strategy would be to just to solve them algebraically.
And if you skip a few questions you feel are tough..then do that.. its an adaptive test so will adjust accordingly. Moreover you dont risk solving a very very hard diagnostic question. wish you all the very best!!
