Hi there,

I know some of you already see this PS. I succeed to eliminate A and B but after I'm lost. Could you help me to understand and select the right answer.


Which inequality below most accurately represents the range of possible values for x ?

A. The absolute value of x is less than or equal to 4.
B. The absolute value of x is less than or equal to 5.
C. The absolute value of (x + 2) is less than or equal to 2.
D. The absolute value of (x - 1) is less than or equal to 3.
E. The absolute value of (x + 1) is less than or equal to 3.

imo d

mod ( x-1)<=3

oe +-(x-1)<=3
taking +ve x-1<=3 i.e x<=4

and taking -ve value -x+1<=3 ie -x<=2 or x>=-2

finally
-2=<x=<4
It does not matter how many times you get knocked down , but how many times you get up

Is this question relevant to questions exactly similar to it ONLY, with number line shown, or we can draw a line to help us solve many of those crazy inequalities and absolute values ? Please, provide example.
