If m and n are positive integers, is (√m)^n and integer?

1) (√m) is an integer.

2) (√n) is an integer.

OA = A

Can someone please explain how come the answer can't be C?

The question stem already provides the info that m and n are integers. However, this doesnt guarantee that √m is an integer. Statement 1 confirms this and its sufficient to answer the question since we know from the question stem that n is also an integer.

(Integer)^Integer = Integer

Can you please explain how come the answer can't be "C"? If we put both statements together, if (√m) & (√n) are both integers, wouldn't they result in an integer?? Please explain. Thank you!

Because A alone is sufficient to answer the question, C can't be the answer.


C will only be the answer if both statements are needed to answer the question.
