So I have started submitting apps (most recently Harvard). However, I found out that I will be receiving a promotion effective 10/1. Should I notify Harvard of this update? Also, for future submissions am I allow to put my position down as the new position I will be having even though the effective date is after when I submit?

If the promotion is significant, I would let them know (even if HBS doesn't usually like extra documents). I would also for SURE put it on my resume. Hey, a promotion is a promotion.

I agree with my colleagues. Write a short email notifying HBS of the update, but do not make any request of HBS.
