Greetings. I am very interested in going to business school, but before I take the GMAT I wanted to know if you wouldn’t mind taking a look at my credentials. My profile is as follows:

Male
26 years old
Graduate top 10 ten Liberal Arts College
Economics major (Sociology minor)
Team captain of college basketball team
3.0 GPA
3 ½ years working experience for a Dutch-owned financial services company
Currently in a managerial role

Using my practice tests as an indicator, I would say I am on pace to score a 650 on the GMAT.

Any feedback regarding my chances of getting into a quality MBA program is greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Dear gabriel16,

While your GPA will be below the average for many schools, I do think you could have a competitive application if you score over a 650 on the GMAT. Since admissions decisions are based on more than a GMAT, GPA and years of experience, your essays, recommendations and interview can make the difference in the resulting decision. If you have some successful leadership experiences, a solid rationale for getting a MBA, and realistic career goals, you should be able to make a compelling case for admission.

Best of luck,
Lisa
