My name is Ana, I am 25 and intend to apply for an MBA in 2010 to start it in 2011. (or latest, to start in 2012)
- GPA, major, school:
Business Administration at a Brazilian university (with a good national concept). Undergrad Average = 87% (top third grade in class) - December, 2007
- GMAT with breakdown
700 (90%) - Q49, V35 AWA 5.0
- resume highlights, including company name, job titles and promotions
I will provide you with more details for the two most recent experiences:
* (May 2008 - June 2009) National Vice-President at an NGO called xxxxx, the world's largest student run organization (at chapter Mexico, leading over 600 young volunteers) for the term 2008/09. - I was responsible for Strategy, Planning and Human Resources. - My team received the xxxxx Award
[GAP Dec 2007 - May 2008: Jan: travelling for the interview in xxxxx - got selected + went to conferences); Feb: chair of a conference in Brazil; Mar: Part time job promoting an entrepreneurship competition; Apr: holidays/travelling)]
[GAP July 2009 - Oct 2009: Preparing for the GMAT and doing business plans for a couple of ventures with some friends. And now I am about to take a job here or in another country, still evaluating]
* (Part time for 2007) Local Committee President at xxxx's local branch in my city in Brazil. (leading over 60 volunteers, and managing an executive board with 5 people from 2 different nationalities) - We grew over 3 digits percent, and became the fifth entity in results for this term.
* (one year) Same organization, finance experience.
* (10 months) Special Projects Intern, at a big Entrepreneurship organization in Brazil.
- extracurricular involvements
* Soccer teams at University and High School, Chair of congress as an alumni, Research Scholarship (1 year).
- awards, patents, publications, etc...
(* Already inside the work experience detail.)
- interesting personal facts - countries lived in, challenges faced, unusual interests
* Countries: Brazil - Native, New Zealand (High School, for 6 months in 200x), Mexico (for one year because of work), Switzerland (1 month of work and cultural exchange)
* Plenty of challenges during the work experience
* Unusual interests (I don't know how unusual they are): Kickboxing, Yoga, Extreme Sports, Table tennis (part of the State's team)
I would like to go for the Top 10 in the US or LBS/ INSEAD; however, I am aware I need more years of relevant work experience. Could you please evaluate a) my chances on this ambitious step with my relatively inexperienced profile
b) whether I should retake the GMAT
c) any other relevant advice you find suitable for my situation
