Hi. I am an undergrad who is graduating in May 2010. I am planning on attending b-school right after my graduation (obstacle #1). Can you tell me if my stats can get me into my target schools?

GMAT: 650 (42Q 38V)
GPA: 3.7
Work experience: 0, but a lot of summer internships with great recommendations
Extracurriculars: VP and secretary and founder of various school clubs
Background: international student born in HK

Target schools

Oops. My target school is Columbia. I am applying ED there. Do I have any chance at the Ivys?

Dear alice912,

Gaining admission into Columbia, or any top 20 business school, with your current profile will be difficult. I would not go so far as to say impossible, but your GMAT is significantly below average for these schools. While your GPA is high, you have no professional work experience aside from your internships. It will come down to how strong your case is for admission directly from college. Generally speaking, successful applicants from college have high GMAT scores, high GPAs, outstanding extracurriculars with leadership, and some internships/family business experience. If you have everything but the high GMAT, then it might be worth applying to see what happens.
