by Vishwa » Sat Oct 25, 2014 3:06 am
Hi,

I have an experience of 3.5 years in IT (Tech Mahindra).
B.Tech IT - 73%
My GMAT Score is 640(Q40,V39) ,AWA - 5

I am planning to apply to :
1) Scheller College of Business (Georgia Institute)
2) Goizueta Business School (Emory University)
3) McCombs School of Business (University of Texas, Austin)
4) College of Business (University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign)
5) Smeal college of business (The Pennsylvania State University)
6) Krannert School of Management (Purdue)

Please let me know what my chances are getting into any of these? If the score isn't sufficient ,please tell me how much of a score would be required (As I am planning to retake again).

Hi there,

Thanks for posting! You haven't really given me a lot to go on but for directional guidance, that's ok. From a GMAT perspective, you're in play for #4, #5, and #6. You're a bit below their medians as well - so they aren't safeties. You are merely in play.

#1 - 3 are really stretch programs for you. And not just from a GMAT perspective. You're an Indian, IT, male - you're not exactly making this easy for yourself.

From a score you should be targeting? As high as possible!

Check out these videos for a little more context - and if you have any other questions, let me know!
