Hello,

Yes, not being an Indian from an IT background will help as you are not part of that over-represented category. Indians in finance do not face the same problem and in my experience have fared well as long as they produce stellar applications.

I think the schools you’re targeting make sense – there is a range of competitiveness, and of course it depends on a strong GMAT score too. Some are reaches because they are reaches for everyone, e.g., Wharton, but probably a reasonable reach for you again assuming the GMAT pans out.

Other schools to look at might be Haas/Berkeley, Cornell, MIT.
