Please evaluate my profile

Work ex-2 years, will be 3 years in July 2012. Working in a Govt. organization in the power sector. Currently I am operation incharge and have looked after various responsibilities, which kept changing from time to time.

Engineer(Elctrical & Electronics) from NIT( one of the premier institutes in India)
CGPI-8.10/10, graduated in May 2009.

Internship of 2.5 months in Germany during college in which I did a research project related to my field(Electrical).
Table tennis team captain of college.

Sent scores to UCLA,UCI,UT-A, UC-B.

Please tell me what are my chances at the above colleges and also please suggest some other good colleges where I might get an admit in Europe/Asia. Also please tell me what are my chances at getting scholarship at these universities.

I forgot to mention my GMAT score in above post.
My GMAT score 660(Q49, V31), AWA-5.0
Taken my GMAT again, score 720(Q49,V39)

Hello,

It's hard to provide suggestions without knowing your goals, which would be a key factor in determining fit with a school. I'd consider Berkeley to be a very high reach, Anderson a possibly reasonable reach, and Texas an on-par to reasonable reach. I would suggest looking at schools in the range of IE, IMD, and ESADE in Europe or Mendoza (Notre Dame) and Olin in the US, as well as Georgetown and UNC.

I'm not sure about the scholarship chances -- generally, the more competitive you are for a program, the more chance you have of getting such funding.

Hi Amit,

Your profile is good and experience of public organization and power sector can make your app strong. Our worry is your low GMAT score which might make it tough to crack the schools you have mentioned.

You can look at ISB, NUS, Judge, HEC in the Asia/ Europe region but still we would recommend improving the GMAT score to 700 before applying to have better chances.

I strongly suggest you retake your GMAT score as your score is probably a couple of standard deviations lower than the average Indian applicant to those schools.

I actually received a Dean's Fellowship award from UCLA Anderson (many moons ago) that was awarded on the strength of my application. Haas also offers merit scholarships as well but you would have to raise your GMAT score considerably to be in the ballpark for these awards (say mid-700).
