I would not say it is impossible, but your GMAT score being below the average for your target schools does make it a little tougher. If you have only taken the test once and think you can increase your score, then it might be worth retaking. Even a 20 point increase would put you in a more competitive position than you are now. You also might consider broadening your target list to include schools with GMAT averages in the 650-680 range. Many of these schools are strong programs with great reputations and comparable placement to top 10 programs.

With regards to your work experience, you technically have 4 years as experience prior to being awarded your degree does not count in terms of quantity. The experience is important to your evaluation, but you would only report then umber of years you have worked full-time, in a professional capacity, since you graduated with your bachelor's degree.

Dear VK,

McCombs and Purdue might be a little more in reach than Darden and NYU, but not by much. Safety schools would be where your GMAT is above the average and the program's curriculum and resources are a good fit for you.
