Profile Evaluation Request

by infantryman » Wed Oct 19, 2016 10:30 pm
Greetings!

Another one to the overcrowded pool of Indian tech graduates, trying to Beat the GMAT and win a 'good' B-school berth.
New on here and would love to get a realistic evaluation of my profile from the experts. I could swallow a bitter pill. Looking for the 2018 entry and inclined towards a one year program.

The info:

Xth - 92.4%
XIIth -82.2% ( just saw the others had mentioned high school scores. Don't know if these are necessary)

Bachelor of Technology in Electronics and Communication Engineering - 66%
Cochin University of Science and Technology (2007-2011). No IIT that.

Traveled across India till 2012. Meeting new people, sharing their stories.

Work Ex- a total of 4 years and 6 months

2012-2014 worked as HR and Operations manager for a tech start up founded by peers from college.

2014 till (hopefully November 2016, if i get my discharge) Serving as an officer in the largest Paramilitary force in India (Google says largest in the world too). Lead force maintaining the Internal Security of the country.

For over the last one year, been serving as Team Commander in the elite spec force engaged in counter guerrilla warfare.

Courses done?

Well I don't remember anything from a 2 week Computer Networking course I did long back. So i guess I'll skip that one.

Counter Insurgency and Anti-Terrorism Course.
Commando Course for pre induction to the jungle warfare unit.
*both courses completed with highest grading.

Extra C and Achievements:
Member of the Quiz teams in school and college.
Represented the School Football team in State Level tournaments.

Led my team in over 25 successful search and destroy missions.
Contingent Commander in the Force's Anniversary Parade.

The scores:
Haven't taken the GMAT just yet. Not being cocky for a bit, 680-700 maybe?

Why an MBA?

Well isn't life too short to do the same thing all your life. Just wanting to switch over to the corporate battlefield. Strategic Management sounds good.

The Schools:

Who wouldn't want to get into Insead, Kellogg and Booth now.

Which would be the best schools I should be looking at if I am eyeing a career in consultancy.
LBS,ROSS,TUCK,HEC,IMD?? The scores have to be around the 720+ mark for these don't they?
Well lets see how the GMAT goes.

Thank you for being kind enough to read all of this. And looking forward to your views.

Have a wonderful day!

Hey dude,
Well for which school and how, let us hold off until you get your GMAT (just come back with the best score, right dude? :) )

For the rest:

Why do you REALLY want to do an MBA? Why is this important? What are your goals? How do you hope to change?

Also: What is unique about you?

All of this will be just as important as all the rest,
Best,
Jon
