Hi ,
Thanks for taking the time to evaluate. I have heard you in a couple of seminars, and I find your analysis very insightful. I will be grateful, if you could evaluate my profile:

Nationality: Indian,Age : 30

GMAT: 700 (5th attempt)
Undergrad percentage: 78% (top 10% of my class; Scholarship for the entire 4 years )
Grad : 3.8 (MS in computer engineering)
Work Ex:
Intel Corporation(2008-present); worked on the latest products churned out by Intel's Atom Division. Worked across multiple teams around the world.
Siemens wireless Division: 6 months.
Extra-curricular:
Treasurer of a nonprofit for the last 5 years.
President of Toastmasters.(2013-present)
Helping a nonprofit to improve their organization culture through an Intel program.(2013-present)
Regular contributor to my school's Career magazine.

Do you think my profile is competitive for top 10 Schools(Booth, kellog,Columbia,MIT etc)? Which would you recommend ?
I want to go into strategic consultancy with companies such as Bain.
Thank You!

Blue_Skies -

Thanks for your post and for contacting Clear Admit for some advice. The challenge you're going to face is that your background and profile are very common relative to the available slots at MBA programs, and your GMAT, while certainly respectable, is going to be a significant hurdle at the top schools that you've mentioned. (You didn't ask about this, but I would not encourage you to take the GMAT a sixth time.)

The details of your work experience will hopefully help you stand out among the crowd. Have you had some career progression? It's good that you have experience working in teams, but have you taken on leadership roles or been selected to lead projects? Your extracurriculars will also help to give your profile some texture and interest.

My advice is to broaden your list of schools to where your GMAT is just about at or above the average for the program. Other schools to consider would be Fuqua, Darden, Johnson, Anderson, and McCombs, although these would probably be in fall into a reach category for you given their overall selectivity. All should be able to connect you with good strategy consulting opportunities, although it may be somewhat hard to crack a top (McKinsey/Bain/BCG) consulting firm. Target schools to consider are Emory, UNC, USC, Indiana, and Georgetown.

Best wishes on your applications, and feel free to visit Clear Admit's website to request a more detailed free consultation.

Regards,
Jon
