GMAT: 720

Education:

Work Experience:
Full-time: 3 years in business development at one of Forbes Top 10 most innovative tech companies & Businessweeks Top 5 companies
- Promoted roughly once per year
Internships: Financial analyst at one of Canada's largest telecom companies

Extracurriculars:
- VP positions in University Commerce association during undergrad

- Teaching Assistant (3 different economics classes (Micro, Macro, Sports)
- I led a trip of 15 to Nicaragua to build houses with Habitat for Humanity raising over $30,000 to support our efforts
- I have been actively involved as a mentor within the Big Brothers organization
- Current leader of all volunteering initiatives at my work --> I oversee and help plan all charity and volunteering work our office takes part in

Plan: Get an MBA in finance and leverage my skills (biz dev, finance) to gain employment at top consulting firm (tech sector)

Target Schools: Tuck, Darden, Johnson, Booth, Ross, Kellogg

Tuck is actually a big customer of the company I work for... does that help? (hahaha)

To what extent will a 2.7GPA hurt my chances applying to these schools & what else can I do to minimize the negative impact on my application?

Thank you very much!

Hi canadian52,

Thanks for posting. Your 2.7 GPA will impact your application, however there are ways to address this. I recommend you read this case study of a candidate who was accepted into top MBA programs with a sub 3.0 GPA: https://www.stacyblackman.com/comprehens ... ies/case5/

It should provide some insight into your application.

We also provide free 30 minute phone consultations here: https://www.stacyblackman.com/contact/
