I just appeared for the GMAT last week and my profile is as follows:
Indian Male
26 Years
GPA 3.3/4.0
GMAT 770 Q51 V44 AWA 6.0
Graduated in Electrical Engineering in Aug 2007 from the Indian Institute of Technology (Top ranked tech-school in India)
Since graduation, was offered a position on the Rio Tinto Graduate Program. I have been working as a Site Electrical Engineer at a remote mine site location in Australia.
Does my GPA look too low for the top tier schools such as Kellogg, Wharton, Stanford, Sloan, LBS? If so can my GMAT score offset that. Also does my work experience in a non-traditional background help?
I will be getting recommendations from the Site Manager and have been involved in community issues arising from mine encroachments on local farm land area and preservation of aboriginal artifacts in the mine land lease. Been involved in literary activities all through university.
Just a brief overview would be fine. Also what sort of safety schools would you suggest? I was looking to go into management consulting for a few years before breaking out on my own after graduation.
