Hi,

I have a GMAT score of 650(Q-47,V-32) and AWA 5.5 backed with 7 years of work experience in highly reputed IT firms in India. Most of my experience is in IT product development with no foreign travel. I wish to do a MBA with Supply Chain Management as my major and am aiming SMU - COX, MSU - Broad, OSU - Fisher and CMU - Tepper.

Please let me know about my chances of getting into these univs and also what other attributes I should add in my profile to standout from other applicants.

Regards,
Amit

Dear Amit,

While you have identified some solid programs to target for your goals, I do think you should consider looking at some programs where your chances are greater to round out your mix of schools. Not that you won't get into one of your target programs, but it is always prudent to have a couple of safety options. Your education and experience background are highly represented in the applicant pool, so your application will be viewed through a comparative lens to applicants with a similar background. As such, your GMAT is low in this subset of the pool. However, you did not note what your transcript from college looks like, your current extracurricular activities, or your career goals. Thus I do not have a clear picture of your application to know if there are points of differentiation and mitigation. It will be key for you to highlight your leadership and team experience, your unique personal and professional experiences, and why each program is a great match for you. If you can put a spotlight on those items, showing how you will add richness to the program, then you will give yourself the best chance.

Good luck,
Lisa
