Hello experts.. i have worked hard for the last 1 year. I am an Indian. Done my engineering. I have not done anything in IT. worked as marketing manager for 4 years and now an Entrepreneur for last 4 years. My company is in UK. I have a total experience of 9 years. My latest GMAT score is 680 (Quant 49, Verbal 35) this was my third attempt (last time i got 610 and 600 respectively). Due to work commitments i won't be able to give another attempt.My TOEFL score is 106. Can some one tell me where do i stand? I am feeling very disappointed because i guess i am about 20-30 marks short. I don't want to go for any e-MBA's or part times (for some very important reasons) and want to pursue either 1 year or 2 year full time MBA. Just to highlight one thing that i am an Entrepreneur, Running my business since 4 years (i have expanded in UK, Europe, Middle east, Srilanka, Nepal, Some parts of USA etc). its still a start up about 20 employees. Still haven't been that successful. This is been my greatest fear. Do you think being a less successful entrepreneur would reduce my chance. That's not all i think now i have three problems Low GMAT Score, being an Entrepreneur and my experience. I want to do an MBA can you suggest me some colleges that i can even think about?
Please suggest if there is anything for me or its all over.

I would really really appreciate a suggestion.

Hi,

Thanks for your post. First of all, I think you might be a bit hard on yourself. In regard to being a "less than successful entrepreneur," I really don't think it matters quite as much as you think. Meaning that entrepreneurship requires a certain set of skills and risk, being willing to do that says a lot about you, even if the venture has been as successful as you would like.

I think the main concern here isn't your scores or job, but rather your level of experience. Most MBA candidates at US programs have between 3-5 years of work experience. Your 9 years of experience puts you quite about the average and thus will make it more challenging for your to gain admission.

You don't share your reasons for only wanting full time, but I strongly urge you to consider this option since it is right on par with your career stage at this time. There are many excellent part time and EMBA programs (Haas and Wharton both have them) which give you access to the same courses and faculty as full time students.
