I am also a CFA Level 3 candidate

Work experience:(Total 5 years) Presently working as a Lead for Lifesciences Advisory at a Leading mid-market in India. Prior to this I was working in a Strategy and Business Development role at a drug discovery and development company of the TATA group. I have also worked in a strategy role as an EA to CEO in a Medical device company

Target Colleges: Planning to apply for an MBA to a Top-10 B-Schools having a Healthcare/Lifesciences focus

Career Aspirations: Lifesciences/ Healthcare private equity

Hi idodtrick,

Thanks for your post.

Your career progression appears to be positive, but without specific promotions within a company you will hopefully be able to convey this through compensation increases and strong letters of recommendation.

I suggest demonstrating your interest in the healthcare / life sciences industry itself (versus just the investment opportunities) in order to differentiate yourself from other finance background applicants.

Extracurricular activities are a very important of the application as well.

Here's a list of top business schools which have healthcare majors/concentrations: Booth, Columbia, Fuqua, Haas, Kellogg, Stanford (Certificate in Public Management), Tuck, and Wharton. Based on the information you have provided, I would view Fuqua as a 'target' school for you and the others as 'reach' schools (where you will be competitive, but at least one dimension is below average for the class - GMAT for example).
