Profile Evaluation - GMAT 670

by [email protected] » Sat Jun 02, 2012 2:07 am
Hi,

Could you please let me know what chances I stand in terms of applying to US B-Schools for a full time MBA course? My GMAT score is 670 (Quants-49 and Quants-31).

I have 7 years or work experience in IT industry. Of these 7 years, 5 years were in India and 2 years in US. Currently I am working as an IT Business Development and Pre-Sales Consultant and frequently travel to US for client discussions and meetings. I performed community services for 4 years, with 2 years in the US (Kenneth Young Center and American Cancer Society) and 2 years in India (I continue to do so in India). I have won multiple awards in sports and academic competitions during school and college (including awards at national and state level).

Please suggest what all colleges I should apply to in the US.

Thanks,
Pans

Hi Pans

Considering your GMAT score and the fact that you belong to the competitive IT pool, US b-schools that you can apply to include Boston University, Arizona State University, Georgia Tech University, Emory and University of Maryland.

You will have to really focus on your application to bring out the strong points in your profile, in order to compete with candidates having a similar profile.

Hi,

Your profile looks good because though you are from technology background you have presales and BD experience which will help you differentiate yourself. Client interaction and 2 yrs of international experience will also help.

Extra currics also look decent and will help add different spikes to your profile.

Now comes the weak part - your gmat score which will prevent you from applying to top 15 schools.

Some schools which you can target

Darden
Cornell
Georgetown McDonough
Kelley Indiana
Emory
Texas Mccombs
USC Marshall
