Hi Stacy,

Can I kindly request you to apprise me on my applicability for the following programs:

1-Insead
2-Kellogg
3- London Business School

Here's a brief on my background:
GMAT- 710 (Q51, V34, AWA-5)
Career Goal- Strategy Consulting, with an industry alignment in Financial Services(FS)
Considering I am looking at a lateral career shift from HR Consulting to Strategy consulting, albeit in the same industry, I am looking at 1-year MBA programs only

Professional Experience:
* 5.5 years in Management Consulting (Human Capital domain & aligned to FS)
* Part of global consulting team and have delivered projects in South Africa, Philippines, Middle East India and Bangladesh
* Excellent career progression; one of the youngest Managers (3 promotions in 5+ years)
* Responsible for Business Development in India and South Africa markets
* Additionally play the role of Capability Development lead for my 50-member team
* Managed to gain entry into Asset Management & Stock Exchange sectors for my firm in India market
* Responsible for creating assets / thought leadership for the firm and selling projects to the tune of $ 2mn. in the last couple of years

Extra-curricular:
1- Active HIV/AIDS counselor associated with National AIDS Control Organization (India) and multiple online health forums, since 8 years
2- Conferred appreciation by Rotary International Group for managing & promoting its blood donation camps in my college
3- Represented my business school in many national level inter b-school competitions (case studies, paper writing) and won 1st/2nd prizes
4- Part of virgin active squash team in South Africa to play club-level squash tournaments
5- Being an Indian, can't disassociate myself from cricket :) Vice-captain of my college cricket team and led it in multiple district-level tournaments

Academic Background:
In my opinion, this could be my Achilles heel, where i am positioned average to above-average.

* Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resources from MDI (a top 10 b-school in the country); CGPA- 6.62/10 (Rank 8th in the batch)
* Bachelors of Engineering (non-IIT; with 67%)
* Class XII & X- 85%
* CFA Level III Candidate

Recommendations
Have received strong recommendations from a couple of Senior Partners in my firm
Thanks for your help![/b]

Hi nikhil_gandhi,

Thanks for your post. Your numbers indicate that you have the intellect and focus to thrive in a top tier MBA program. Nothing about your story makes me think there is any reason why you cannot be admitted, but nothing stands out telling me why you should be admitted. All of the reasons why a top program would admit you are in the details of your work experience, personal experiences, personality, values and overall story.

If you'd like, we provide free advice for the programs you are considering here:
