I am a medical student from one of the premier medical universities in India currently doing my internship. I had decided that my long term goals are in the business arena even before going to the medical field. A background in health care
was essential for me as my interests lie in Health care and pharmaceutical industry. My achievements as of now are-
-My college ranks 3rd in India for an undergraduate degree in medicine.
- I qualified to the top 50 in biology Olympiad and top 200 in chemistry olympiad at the all India level.
- Have been part of a research project on cervical cancer
- organized 3 film festivals
- got published in the college magazine on numerous occasions
- organized certain aspects of the annual college fest
- participated in a few quizzes
-participated in medical camps playing an active administrative and functionary role
-organized charity and blood donation drives.
The only hiccup in my profile is that i had a major accident two days prior to my final practicals and flunk in Surgery practical exam.
Moreover, my college was pretty stingy in awarding marks and i scored a cumulative percentage of 60+ only.
I propose to apply for fall 2011 after giving GMAT in 2010 . I request you to take time out of your busy schedule and evaluate the acceptability of my profile keeping in mind that i have practically no work experience as i believe internship is not counted as the same.
