Many criterias exist to select a bschool.Since u are from IT background,i assume u would like to venture into technology consulting.As far as i know,Haas is one of the best schools for technology management.
I would suggest u to check the rankings(FT/USNEWS/Poets and Quants),visit websites of colleges and seeing which school fits u the best.
It might be possible that a X college is highly ranked but it might be not highly ranked when it comes to ur area of interest.Also look at the placements scenario and students enter into which sector post graduation(finance,consulting)

Actually, I am targeting schools like ISB(India), McCombs, Tuck, Booth etc. With respect to such colleges, how does my profile look so far. Is it good or just average? Do I stand good chances?

There's no concrete answer here. One thing I can say is professionally, you come from the overrepresented "Indian IT guy" group. The key here is - how can you differentiate yourself from the rest of the pack? Applicants with your professional background typically have good grades and high GMATs.

Adcoms read hundreds to thousands of essays - you'll need to write about something that will leave a lasting impression.
