Firstly, I appreciate your input on the questions that I had posted a couple of weeks ago. Since then, I have been offered to pursue an opportunity overseas by the organization I work for. The relocation is to our UK office that is stipulated on a 12 month commitment. Essentially, if I were to accept this opportunity, I will be unable to attend any business chool whose program starts in Fall 2009. I am in a dilemma since the overseas opportunity expands my responsibility and provides me with international work experience. However, I am unable to assess the impact of applying a year later. I am 28 years now, with 5.5 years of work experience. If I were to apply for Fall 2010, I will have 6.5 years under my belt. I wanted to get your thoughts on whether there is an adverse impact to my candidacy if I were to apply a year later with possibly a promotion and international work experience. I know IMD is one school that values more work experience but I don't have a good understanding of the viewpoint of other schools listed above.
Short Listed Schools: Stern, Chicago, Kellogg, Tuck, Ross, London Business School, INSEAD (can apply to Jan 2010 program), IMD, IESE, Cambridge
Your response to my candidacy was that I would be a sweet to stretch for all schools given the expected competetivness of this years applicant pool.
Pre B-school experience: 2 years market research, working for last 3.5 years in a niche supply chain consulting organization; promoted once with salary increases every 6 months, expansion of responsibilities - from analytical modelling work to leading projects now
Post B-School Profession: Supply Chain Finance in a firm with global presence
