I encourage you to research the schools of interest to you to get an idea of what the "average student" looks like--in essence, the class profile. This profile will give you an idea of where your GMAT and GPA need to be to be competitive. For tips on identifying schools, please visit our sticky on school selection. You have enough work experience, but it is the quality of the experience that counts, not the quantity. Depending on the schools you decide to target, you might need to retake your GMAT and increase your score. You want your GMAT to be above the school's average to be in the best position. Additionally, you will want to present a well-rounded person, so you will want to have some activities outside of the office you can note in your applications. Finally, the sooner you get started, the better, as you want to have enough time to submit a quality application package.

Quality is not about the title or the industry; it is about what you have done in your career that has added value to your company and the accomplishments you can note on your resume. Likewise, you want to be able to demonstrate that you have progressed during your tenure. Even if your title has not changed, has the scope of your responsibilities increased over time? Have you taken on larger projects? larger budgets? supervision of more staff? Quality is the demonstration of progression and advancement of your skills and career by what you have accomplished during your professional experience. While the number of years and job titles will help to indicate those changes, admissions committees will scrutinize your resume, essays and recommendations for further evidence of your progression.
