Hi Stacy.

I am a Junior year student of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Israel Institute of Technology (Technion). Its a top 25 Engineering university in the world and Rank 1 in Israel/Middle east.

I am extremely interested in applying for the Hbs 2+2 in particular and would be applying most probably in coming october round 1.

Below is my concise profile:

# GMAT : 730
# Undergrad average- 83% till now. Have been twice on dean's list of excellence. Receiving full
scholarship from the institute for academic performance.
# Did internship last summer at Harvard University. Worked in Environmental technology lab, expecting
co-authored paper soon.
# Invited again (and would go) to Harvard for another stipend internship this summer.
# One of the 12 fellows at Israel Asia Leaders Fellowship.
# Did some good research back here at Technion as well as in US.
# Working on a sponsored startup for environmental protection and afforestation, should be active
within 2-3 months
# Would be able to get 3 recommendations easily, including from the professor at Harvard.
# Visited Nepal as part of engineers without borders team to develop renewable energy systems there.

I guess i have few more stuff here and there, but i think these are the basics on which i want to focus my application. I am wondering with not much time left should i work on some other aspects of my profile too? What do you recommend and how do you see my profile for this competitive school.

Thanks.

Aki

Dear Aki,

I think you have the building blocks for a competitive foundation. It is important to highlight your leadership experiences, so seek out opportunities with student or community organizations. You also want to present a solid plan for what you plan to do between your bachelor's degree and HBS--connecting the dots between that experience, the MBA and your future career goals. Keep on doing what you are doing--excelling academically, contributing in your internship, and being involved as a student. Finally, I encourage you to visit HBS over the summer while you are back at Harvard University this summer. You won't be able to attend a class, but you might be able to get a tour and meet with someone in the admissions office.

Good luck,
Lisa
