Academic Profile:
UnderGrad: Engineering (Electronics and Telecom) from India with 75%
Higher Secondary: 72%

GMAT:
630 (Q44, V28 )
Plan to re-write by end of Dec to get a score of atleast 680 or more.

Work Experience:
Currently working as a Program Manager in an Indian MNC. Have 8 years of total work experience with around 5 years at client location.
Started my professional career as a developer, then progressed to an Analyst role and since last one and a half year as a Project Manager.
In my current role I am overall responsible for a particular business area. Team wise I lead a group of 18 people.
Major achievement in my current role was growing business which started with a single project of $200k to $1.5m annual turnover within a span of one year.

Extra Curricular:
I used to be an active participant in my social community, organizing events, preparing software for cultural events etc. During my college I was one of the organizing member for cultural and technical events.
Currently my participation in any charitable or social activities is negligible.

Why MBA:
I am interested in pursuing General MBA or MBA focused on Health Care. My wife's profession is a medical one. Talking to her many times about how people work in her profession, I feel that technology can be neatly used to overcome many challenging problems. It would improve the productivity of people. Hence I would like to pursue a management career which helps me bridge this gap.

I plan to apply for schools in the NorthWest region of US, primarily Seattle area. What are my chances of getting into one of the schools here like University of Washington or Portland State University?

Also any suggestions to improve on areas that would make my profile stronger are welcome.

Hi Auzbee,

It sounds like you have great work experience you can draw upon. I would work a bit on your reasons for healthcare management, have you done anything personally in the area? Your extracurriculars should probably also be improved if you are planning to apply next year and have time.

If you improve your GMAT as well, I think you do have a good chance at your target schools.

Good luck!
