let probability of breaking the jar =1/z
probabilityof pulling a black ball out of a glass jar and breaking the jar= 1/x * 1/z=1/y
1/z= x/y

The answer should be X/Y
Using the "And" rule in Prob which is the multiplication of the individual probabilities.
