if all of the telephone extensions in a cetain company must be even numbers, and if each of the extensions uses all four of the digits 1,2,3, and 6, what is the greatest number of four digits extensions that the company can have ?

answer is 12

My Answer 12

the number to be even..last digit must be even so should be either 2 or 6.

therefore the units digit canbe filled in 2 ways.
first 3 digits can be filled in 3 places in 3P3 ways = 6

hece its 2*6 = 12 ways..
