A bag contains 6 cherry, 3 orange and 2 lemon candies. You reach in and take 3 pieces of candy at random. What is the probability that you have at least 2 cherry candies? (round answer to four decimal places)



The answer is 0.5758.

two possible options

2-cherry, 1- any other type ( since it is not specified)
3-cherry
total number of options to select 3 candies-11C3=5*11*3 ( after cancelling)

6C2 -(selecting 2 cherry)*5C1( 3-orange and 2 lenom)=15*5
6C3-(selecting 3 cherry)=4*5

desired result=(15*5+4*5)/5*11*3=95/5*11*3=0,575
