What is a part of a deal? $950 million? Also, makes implies that either in the present or on an ongoing basis the deal makes it the largest. Using makes is not terrible, but will make is better.

This basically correctly conveys that purchasing the division is part of a deal that will make the company the largest, but I have to wonder what exactly is part of the deal. No noun is used that could specifically be considered part of the deal.
