Given that,
5j/4 = k/4, -> k=5j

3k/2 = l/2 -> l=3k

7l/4 = 3m/4 -> 3m=7l

we need to deduce an eqtn between m and j.

3m = 7l
3m = 7(3k)
3m = 21k
3m = 21(5j)
m/5 = 7j

we need to find the percent of m/5 in 2j
we got m/5 = 7j
So we need to find the percentage of 7j in 2j
=7j/2j * 100
which should be 350.

Plz tell if this is correct.

since k=5j
i=3k
3m=7i
therefore, 7i=21k ( since 3m=7i)
21k=105j
therefore, 3m=105j
this makes m= 35j ----1
but since 20% of m is equal to what percent of 200% of j ?
therefore m/5=2j.
so,m=10j----2
so,taking from statement 1 and 2
10*35=350.

We can create the following equations:

1.25j = 0.25k

1.5k = 0.5l

1.75l = 0.75m

We need to get m and j in terms the same variable.

Thus:

6(1.25j = 0.25k)

7.5j = 1.5k

Since 1.5k = 0.5l, we have:

7.5j = 0.5l

j = 0.5l/7.5 = 5l/75 = l/15

Thus, 200% of j = 2j = 2(l/15) = 2l/15

Looking at the third equation, we can get m in terms of l:

1.75l = 0.75m

m = 1.75l/0.75 = 175l/75 = 7l/3

Thus, 20% of m = (1/5)m = (1/5)(7l/3) = 7l/15.

We need to determine:

20% of m is equal to what percentage of 200% of j?

(7l/15)/(2l/15) x 100

7/2 x 100 = 3.5 x 100 = 350%

Answer: D

Hi All,

We're told that 125% of J = 25% of K, 150% of K = 50% of L, and 175% of L = 75% of M. We're asked 20% of M is equal to what PERCENT of 200% of J. This question can be solved by TESTing VALUES.

IF....K=100
125% of J = 25% of 100
1.25(J) = 25
J = 25/1.25 = 100/5 = 20
J = 20

150% of 100 = 50% of L
150 = .5(L)
L = 300

175% of 300 = 75% of M
525 = .75(M)
2100 = 3M
M = 700

20% of M = (.2)(700) = 140
200% of J = 2(20) = 40

140 is what percent of 40?... 140/40 = 7/2 = 3.5 = 350%

Final Answer: D

A wise test-taker can quickly convert percents to fractions:
125% = 5/4.
25% = 1/4.
150% = 3/2.
50% = 1/2.
175% = 7/4.
75% = 3/4.
20% = 1/5.
200% = 2.

Step-by-step, the problem can be rephrased as follows:

5/4 of j is equal to 1/4 of k.
Let J=4.
(5/4)J = (5/4)(4) = 5.
Since the value in blue is equal to 1/4 of K, K = 20.

3/2 of k is equal to 1/2 of l.
(3/2)k = (3/2)(20) = 30.
Since the value in blue is equal to 1/2 of L, L=60.

7/4 of l is equal to 3/4 of m.
(7/4)L = (7/4)60 = 105.
Since the value in blue is equal to 3/4 of m, we get:
105 = (3/4)M
420 = 3M
140 = M.

1/5 of m is equal to what percent of 2j?
(1/5)M = (1/5)(140) = 28.
2J = 2*4 = 8.
The question stem becomes:
28 is what percent of 8?
(28/8) * 100 = (7/2) * 100 = 350.

The correct answer is D.
