In James Cameron's 1984 classic THE TERMINATOR, the plot centers around the implications of time travel when a futuristic robot travels fifty five years back in time and it then attempts to change the outcome of events by assassinating the leader of a successful future uprising.

a. ut ten attempts to change the outcome of event by assassinating the leader of a successful future uprising
b. then attempting to change the outcome of events by assassinating the leader of successful future uprising
c. attempts to change the outcome of events by assassinating the leader of successful future uprisings
d. it attempts to change the outcome of events by assassinating the leader of a successful future uprising
e. it attemts to change the outcome of a successful future uprising by assassinating the leader

QA us C but what is wrong with D, doesn't the IT clear all ambiguity? why is that redundant?[/b][/u]

"When a futuristic robot travels... and attempts" is parallel and doesn't require any clarification.

On the other hand, "when a futuristic robot travels... and IT attempts" is redundant, since we already know which actor is connected to all of the verbs in the list.

gmatprep by ets software and got a 570 (quant 30 Verbal 3Cool. This is horrible need to get my deserved 700. I believe that I am very close actually. I was very rusty on math and never reviewed or touched the math at all for 4 months. I finally have a good handle of verbal but the transition to the computer completely killed my reading comprehension skills. I was getting perfect scores on the og books until on the screen. secondly I had to guess on the last 7-10 on both sections. Going too slow but will speed up. If I can learn how to deal with reading comprehension on the screen I will probably have verbal in my pocket. I need to focus on the math now. I had decent scores before on math like a quant 44 but I must have gotten a bit rusty.

need help of strategy from all the pros. HELP!

I just can't believe c is the right answer. It completely changes meaning of the original sentence. The original sentence says: "the leader of a successful future uprising", while c says: "the leader of successful future uprisings".

IMO

IMO C, because it is not necessary, and uprisings plural matches with outcome of events (plural)
