Powerprep or Kaplan/Manhattan tests

by Ashish Jassra » Sat May 29, 2010 2:28 pm
I have GMAT test scheduled for 09th Jun. Before the test I plan to do few Kaplan and Manhattan tests.

I want to check if I should either stick to Kaplan/ Manhattan tests or drop in two of Kaplan/ Manhattan tests to do Powerprep tests instead.

Are Powerprep tests still relevant and benefitial.

Regards

thanks matey, but not sure if these articles are for me.

I just need someone to tell me which test is better - powerprep or Kaplan/manhattan?

What I was trying to say is, with roughly a week left, there is very little these tests can do for you other than providing additional questions for practice.

1. None of these tests will change your score if you are not ready by now.
2. They won't build your stamina if you don't have stamina by this point.
3. It may hurt your confidence if you score low.
4. Only GMATPrep tests should be used for verbal at this point, and third party interpretation of CR/RC may actually end up hurting your score.

My friend, you are making assumptions that are not in the stimulus and certainly not author's (i.e. mine) intent. I didn't say that

I have not prepared for my exam and that
I have not done any tests so far

I have been preparing for 3 months and have been scoring decently in the prep tests so far (rest actual gmat will tell).

I have a simple question - Are powerprep tests relevant and worth doing?

powerprep maths is definitely not representative. you may want to give the tests if u want a confidence boost. as far as others, you will probably find mentioned in lot of forums that kaplan is very conservative, and ur actual scores may be higher by as much as 100 points.

I guess I tried to read into your question a little too much. FYI, there are
many threads in "I just beat the GMAT" and here that have discussed practice CAT scores.
