PowerPrep Availability

by ndesai2 » Sun Apr 16, 2006 6:04 am
Greetings and thanks for all the great info. Does anyone know where I can find a copy of the Powerprep for download? I have the GMATPrep Software but can't seem to find the Powerprep tests anywhere?

Thanks,
ND

Some background on PowerPrep:

PowerPrep features the old user interface for the GMAT. When administration of the GMAT was taken over by Peterson's in 2006, the user interface for the GMAT was upgraded, and GMATPrep was developed for distribution.

Even though the UI has changed, the test has not changed. GMATPrep looks a little prettier--that's about it. Reading comprehension is slightly easier on GMATPrep as well because the software highlights specific passages on the text for certain questions.

Click here to download the old PowerPrep software. Always good to have extra practice tests... [UPDATE: This file had to be removed to comply with GMAC's request]

Best of luck!

Do the questions in the PowerPrep Software overlap with either GMATPrep or any of the offical guides (Official Guide for GMAT Review, 11th Edition; The Official Guide for GMAT Verbal Review; or The Official Guide for GMAT Quantitative Review)?

I noticed heavy overlap of questions among PowerPrep, GMATPrep, and OG 10th Edition when I prepped for the test last year. I can't speak to how much overlap there would be with these software and 11th edition, but I would expect at least some.

It's still worth going through these practice exams nonetheless.

power prep is obsolete.
so i personally dont reccomend it;
also i leant that GMATprep gives more accurate results than any other test simulator providers ( be it Kaplan or Pinceton or Powerprep)

rightly said sir eric, always good to hv extra material for practise

How many tests are contained in the GMATPrep?

Powerprep had 2, does GMATPrep also contain 2 tests?

Yes, it also contains two tests and no doubt it gives you the accurate picture of your preparation.
