When you will add all the scores the total will be 73.

2 + 10 + 16..........so on.

So 73 is not an evan number. To calculate the median
we have to add 1 to 73 that is 74/2 = 37 median.

And it will lie in the range 80-89.

Hence C.

Let me try to explain though i am very bad at explaining.

Ok median of 73 +1 = 74 is 37.

37 will lie in the range 80-89 if you see all the values.

2+16= 18 then 18 + 16 = 34 and then 34 + 27 = 61 37th value comes under this........

Lets see what the heading ( of the columns) mean

Number of scores : this is the frequency
Example : lets take the score interval 50-59 the frequency is 2

what does this mean it means that there are two people with with a score with in this range

If this is still a problem you can imagine that the intervals ate like baskets( say they are labeled according to weight) and the frequencies are like apples so .......for the 50-59 basket you have only two apples ...ect......

Then what is the median or the middle value or in which basket will you fine the middle value

for this we need to take all the apples and arrange them in either the ascending order or the descending order .

Total no of apples = 2+10+16+27+18 =73
so the median must be the 37th apple where do we find the 37th apple
its in the 4th basket that is 80-89 basket

hence the answer is 80-89 or C
