One year payment to the supporter of a party is $200 plus one bottle of Champagne. One supporter leaves the party after 9 months and receives $120 and a bottle of Champagne as his total payment. What is the price of one bottle of Champagne?

Let the price of one bottle of Champagne be $ P and monthly pay be V.
12 V=200 +P ------- (1)
9V=120 +P-------- (2)
3V=80
or,240=120+P (substituting in 2)

The payment monthly is 200/12 + 1/12 of a champagne -
Payment for 9 months is (200/12)*9 + 9/12 of the bottle = $ 150 + 3/4 bottle.
He is still not entitled to the full bottle, so the accountant of the party deducts $ 30 and gives him a full bottle.
1/4 of the bottle is $ 30

this is ratio problem

let bottle be $C

200+C/12 =120+C/9

C=120

The anwer is E
