Education is an essential requirement to ensure a brighter future for a child as they are the future of a country. Public school serves as a catalyst in the process of grooming them for the future. Some people are of the opinion that when one doesn't reap the fruits of a particular tree, it is not wise to invest in betterment of it. It is like thinking, if I do not use a particular road, I should not pay tax to maintain it. But aren't roads built for better connectivity between places?


Funding public schools through taxes is just another way of giving back what we gain from the society. In a democracy everybody has a right to make a choice, but arguing that no benefit is reaped from it is not justified. Everybody gains through it in different ways, some which are direct and some indirect.


For instance those who send their children to Private school to ensure finer education, fail to see that the money which is spend as taxes can help educate a child who might not be as lucky to be able to afford such an expensive place. Private schools are expensive therefore a few privileged students can attend it. It would be quite acceptable to say that student who graduate from such places have an entrepreneur streak in them. A good entrepreneur can run a business when he has a group of strong employees working for him. A good employee is made from the education received at those very public schools which the "privileged" oppose to support. They derive an indirect benefit while the employee gains a direct benefit from the Public School System.


It is a common knowledge that, an educated person is an "asset" to the society. They help in contributing for the progress of the nation. They help in making the economy stronger. And a stronger economy generates opportunities for everybody. A responsible citizen doesn't feel it a burden to pay taxes which benefit him directly or indirectly. Therefore one must not shy from supporting an institution which helps in building a strong economy.
