18. The complex tax dispute between the Covered Bridge Mall and Harris Township is not likely to be adjudicated for several years, and, in the meantime, both sides are intent on creating difficulties for the other.
(A) both sides are intent on creating difficulties for the other
(B) both sides are intent on creating difficulties for each other
(C) each side is intent on creating difficulties for the other
(D) each side is intent on creating difficulties for one another

Went for B. Narrowed down to A or B. A is wrong for "the other".

My Answer is C

When two persons are referred in a sentence using each, other should be used.
Incase of three people the usage is each....another.

Great question to understand the difference between each..other & each..another.

Each ... other should be used when referring to two people
Each ... another should be used when referring to more than two people

"Both ... each other" is not idiomatic.

IMO C.

Further, use "both" when parties are collaborating and use "each " when parties are more seperate...

Here, as they are more seperate, we use each side...

somebody was saying: each other vs each another

just wanted to point out is should be : each other vs one another and not each another
