Many test-takers have problems keeping a steady pace up for RC questions, so don't worry! With practice, you'll certainly be able to increase your speed.

Make sure to be on the lookout for the main point (of each paragraph as well as the passage as a whole) as you read. The first sentence of the paragraph often contains the main point. At Knewton, we teach students to keep their eyes out for the MAPS (Main Point, Attitude, Purpose, and Structure) of the passage. This helps you break the passage up logically and makes it easier to answer the questions at the end.

Taking notes will also help you when it comes time to answering questions related to the passage. It might seem like this would take more time but in fact the opposite is true!
