Can anyone share tips to solve problems that use percentages/ averages/ numbers in general.

What is the BEST approach to solve these questions? - Categories - Assumptions, Strengthen, Weaken.

There is a set of Lotus Sutra from PowerScore Critical Reasoning Bible.

Remove misconceptions:
1/ Increasing percentages automatically lead to increasing numbers.(and vice versa)
2/ Large numbers automatically mean large percentages, and small numbers automatically mean small percentages.(and vice versa)

For these question types, try and figure out the conclusion.Almost all correct answers impact the conclusion. These questions often lead to strong prephrases. The answer choices are accepted as given, even if they include "new" information.

HI Arora007 can u elaborate on

The percentage of polio afflicting children has increased from 1% of all kids below the age of 5 to 2% of all kids below the age of 5. But it should not lead you to assume that the polio afflicted kidz have increased from 500 in number to 1000 in number(or any number greater than 500). This condition would be only true if you know that the number of kidz below the age of 5 has remained constant.

by vice versa I mean,we should not assume, decreasing percentages automatically do not lead to decreasing numbers. eg the BMW market share has dropped from 10% to 5% of the market share. But what if the market grew 3 times...? if 1000 BMWs were being sold... now 1500 will be sold!
