The best teachers are those whose classes include a large amount of discussion between teachers and students.

Discuss the extend to which you agree or disagree with the opinion stated above. Support your views with reasons and/or examples from your own experience, observations, or reading.

I agree that the best teachers are those whose classes include a large amount of discussion between teachers and students.

One of my reasons to believe this is because one of the aims of a teacher is for his/her students to lean. By introducing discussions in-class, students learn more than what is already in the textbooks. Teachers have a lot of knowledge that should be shared with students in order for the students to advance in their studies.

Another reason for my belief, is that in-class discussion builds a better public speaking skill for students. It is very important that students who would become future employees or employers come out of school with an adequate public speaking skill. By interacting with other classmates and teachers in class discussions, students practice doing public speaking. Not matter what career the student choose, it is important to know how to speak in public. That would help students during interviews, presentations, or just interacting with colleagues.

In class discussion also help students and teachers to establish a relationship. When the teacher knows the personality of the students he/she is teaching, it should be easier for him to come up with better approaches to make his/her students to learn.

While I was in school, I was lucky to have good teachers who encouraged in class discussions. Those class discussions made me understand points that I had trouble understanding from the textbook. Also, I started to get involved in class discussions, which helped me improve my public speaking abilities. I was not afraid of giving my opinion in front of class and that made me feel very proud of myself and my teacher. I build a good relationship with my teachers and class mates and at the end of the semester I would come up with good grades.

In conclusion, the best teachers help their students and by introducing in class discussions these teachers are getting a part from those who simply use textbooks and other old fashion ways of teaching. Those teachers who do not build a relationship with his/her students are not remembered. If I'm asked who was my best teacher, I will say the name of a teacher who had some sort of interaction with me and my classmates, those who used in class discussion will be on top of my head.
