Hi Friends, please rate my below essay. This is my first attempt, please help me find the rating that I would get for the below. Also, please tell me if the content and its lenght is good, sufficient or not. Thanks very much in advance.

In some countries, television and radio programs are carefully censored for offensive language and behavior. In other countries, there is little or no censorship.

In your view, to what extent should government or any other group be able to censor television or radio programs? Explain, giving relevant reasons and/or examples to support your position.

---
In some countries the television and radio programs are censored for offensive language and behavior, but in other countries they are not. In my view, the censorship is required and is very important to maintain peace and political and financial stability of a country.

Today media has lots of independence and, with advanced information technology, it is possible to broadcast any information or data to any place in the world within a blink of an eye. It become increasingly important to scan each bit of information to make sure it reaches only the intended recipients. For example, in case of 2004 Gujrat riots in India, the information was deeply scanned and many pictures and video clips, containing offensive language, behavior and actions, were and not shown in the TV or newspapers and were not discussed on radio. Failing to this, it would have ignited fresh riots in other parts of the country and protests elsewhere. Although, later, once the situation improved, the videos and pictures were released to public for discussion and to show how the whole incident took place.

Another example are the prime time TV shows that contain offensive language and actions that shouldnt be shown to minors. In their growing age, children learn more from actions and events that they see and are likely to take wrong interpretation of such TV shows.

Thus it is very important in general interest of public of each country that the programs broadcasted on TV and radio must be carefully examined and censor off the offensive material.
