There are 3 states and three students representing each state .in how many ways 5 students can be chosen such that at least one student is chosen from each state?

There are 3 states and three students representing each state. in how many ways 5 students can be chosen such that at least one student is chosen from each state?

I would look first at probability:
P(1st person being from state A) = 3/9 = 1/3
P(2nd person being from state B) = 3/8
P(3rd person being from state C) = 3/7

So P(A and B and C above) = 1/3 * 3/8 * 3/7 = 3/56

Next, the total number of possibilities = 9 * 8 * 7 * 6 * 5 = 15120

3/56 * 15120 = 810

Does 810 match the correct answer?
