Hi Stacy/Lisa
I'd really appreciate if you could evaluate my profile
GMAT : 750
Work Ex : 2 years before I join B school.
GPA : 8.6/10
Extra Curriculars : Volunteered & Participated in a large number of activities in college fests etc, but not been involved in any one activity for a long time.

I'm working with one of the best IT companies in the world, however, I haven't had any opportunity to demonstrate any leadership skills.
I graduated from one of the second tier engineering colleges in India with a degree in Computer Science.

The schools I'm targeting are as below:
Johnson
Darden
Kellogg
Kenan Flagler
Georgia Tech
Goizueta
Tepper

Do I stand a realistic chance at these schools?
Also, are there any b schools that may give me a scholarship?

Thanks in anticipation.

I am also considering applying to McDonough (Georgetown) and McCombs(UTexas@Austin). Do I stand a chance at these?
Also, I've heard that McCombs mostly admits Texans. I'd appreciate some insight on that.

Thanks

Dear mbaFall2010,

McCombs does not "mostly admit Texans" as a goal. The percentage of applicants to McCombs from Texas is quite high, and as a result, Texans make up a large percentage of the class--but not nearly as large as the percentage of Texans in the entire applicant pool. So, it is not an advantage to be from Texas in this regard.

With regards to your profile in relation to your target schools, I think you have a competitive GMAT and GPA. You only have 2 years of experience, so it will be important to show progression and that you have gained a depth of experience. It will come down to how strong your essays, resume, recommendations and interview are. In terms of scholarships, these are tougher to get than an offer of admission. It is not something to expect. However, your chances for an award will increase at schools that are less selective.

Good luck,
Lisa
